Project Owner: T.C. Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and the World Bank (PMR)
Project Start Date: September 2014
Project End Date: April 2016
Project Explanation: Enterprises that are carrying out specified activities have been obligated with monitoring, reporting and verification due to the revised version of “Regulation on Monitoring of Greenhouse Gas Emissions” published on May 17, 2014. Companies under obligation have started to monitor the greenhouse gas emissions and started to perform their reporting annualy for the first time in 2015.

Within the scope of the project, five cement plants have volunteered to carry out pilot monitoring, reporting and verification processes.

Life Enerji conducted a field visit to five cement pilot plants in 2014 and gave trainings on monitoring of greenhouse gas emissions. Subsequently, monitoring plans of the facilities have been prepared. The facilities performed 3-months monitoring in 2014 and emissions reports of these facilities were prepared in 2015. Subsequently, an accredited verification body verified prepared reports. Life Enerji has provided consultancy services in the monitoring plan and emission reports preparation as well as in the verification process. Validated emission reports were submitted to the Ministry. Thus, the Ministry received the first verified emission reports within the scope of this project. The experiences that are gained by benefiting from the timing of this project have made significant contributions to the monitoring processes of greenhouse gas emissions in Turkey.
